WESTERWOLDS (Lolium westerwoldicum) have traditionally been used as a short-term, stop-gap, cover crop
The seeds of westerwolds are very large compared to those of perennial ryegrasses, meaning a higher seed rate needs to be sown to produce a good cover.
WESTERWOLDS will grow quickly after sowing but can produce a thin base herbage which quickly goes to head irrespective of when it has been sown.
Due to its open method of growing, WESTERWOLDS are not considered suitable for grazing, unless grown on a very free drqaining, light soil.
WESTERWOLDS are rcomended for very short-term harvesting of approximately 6 months after sowing.
Available as Organic or Conventional seed in 1 acre (15 Kilo) bags.
